FingerTac

The FingerTac is a haptic feedback thimble device developed at German Aerospace Center (DLR). It enables simultaneous interaction with virtual and real elements while offering an immersive experience.

The FingerTac introduces vibrotactile feedback at the fingertip without obstructing the main interaction area of the finger. Its predecessor was attached to the inner of the distal phalanx, preventing grasping and sensing of physical objects. This resulted in the need for the current configuration of the FingerTac, which enables simultaneous tactile interaction with virtual and physical objects, which is its main feature.
